For cities, museums and tourism
Your city already has the stories. Just not at the places.
Visitors get a leaflet, a walking tour that starts at ten, or an app they open once. Meanwhile what makes the place worth visiting is nowhere near the place. What happened here. Who lived here. What changed.
Start with one street and the free app. For a city-wide or institutional layer, email hello@postycrumbs.com.
What you can run
How does a city or tourism board use Posty Crumbs?
The same pieces everyone else gets, operated officially for a place you are responsible for.
Official routes people actually finish
A heritage walk, a food route, the version of the old town worth three hours. In order, on foot, with the next stop always obvious.
A museum that carries on outside
The collection stops at the door; the subject does not. Leave the rest of the story at the buildings, streets and sites the exhibits came from.
A festival becomes the archive of that year
Everything captured during the weekend collects in one place, and afterwards it stays as a record you can switch years inside.
Official, and still alive
Your crumbs and your trails, published under your own profile. What residents and visitors leave sits alongside them, which is what stops the whole thing reading like a brochure.
What is happening right now
A market, a parade, an opening. A stream tied to the spot, so someone eight minutes away can decide to walk into it.
It compounds
Every season adds more. The layer you start this year is more valuable in five, because nothing that was left on it has expired.
The long game
Why would a city do this rather than buy ads?
An ad campaign ends. This keeps working and keeps growing, because it belongs to the place and not to a media buy. Over the years it turns into a record of what people noticed, remembered and recommended here.
Start with one street. The stretch every visitor walks anyway is the right place to prove this. Ten crumbs and one trail is a real pilot, and it costs nothing to run.
Questions
What a tourism board asks.
Do we need to build or buy an app?
No. That is most of the point. Your layer lives inside Posty Crumbs, so there is nothing to develop, nothing to maintain and nothing for a visitor to download twice.
Can we control what appears at our sites?
You control everything you publish, and your official trails and crumbs are yours to edit or remove. The public map itself stays open — anyone can leave something anywhere — and anything that crosses a line can be reported and reviewed.
Does it work for visitors who do not speak the language?
A crumb can be a video, a photo, audio or text, so a lot of it carries across without translation. Anything you write, you write in the languages you choose.
What happens to it after a campaign ends?
It stays. That is the difference between this and a media buy — the layer you built keeps being found by people who arrive next year.
How do we start?
Pick one street or one site, drop ten crumbs with the free app, and walk it. Then email hello@postycrumbs.com about the rest.
The street is already there. So are the stories.
Nobody has to be persuaded to walk it. They are walking it today, past everything nobody ever told them.
