Posty Crumbs is a free map app for iPhone and Android. People drop photos, video, voice notes and stories at exact coordinates — called crumbs — and anyone who opens the map there can find them. Nothing expires. Nothing gets buried.

Why this exists

Unlock the world by unlocking the feed.

The truth is out there. It's just buried in a feed somewhere.

u/mulder· Aug 2021 · r/UFOs @mulder· the ridge, 2:14am

Three lights crossed the ridge at 2:14am. No sound at all. I got forty seconds of it.

40s video · 12 comments

…and 1,400 posts since.

Great content needs a home where people can find it again.

In a feed

On the map

Tap it — it is a crumb now

Forty seconds of something nobody can explain, sinking down a thread. Nobody who drives out there will ever see it.

Or it stays on the ridge, and whoever drives out there next finds it waiting.

Content you can walk into.

Open one from here

There's more than meets the eye.

Things people walk past every day. Real ones, opening exactly the way they open in the app. Flick through.

And {{ crumbCount }} more. Under benches, murals, trailheads and street corners. Only in the app. {{ primaryLabel }}

Nineteen of {{ crumbCount }}. The rest are waiting for whoever shows up next.

More than a photo

Attach anything to a crumb.

Drop the video, the voice note, the thread, the YouTube link, the reel... all of it into one crumb. You don't have to go to fifty different places to follow that lead.

An example · a wall in Estarreja

Follow someone, and their crumbs find you.

Millo painted this one. It is already on the map, in his own words.

Weave, a Millo mural in Estarreja, Portugal — a figure at a traditional loom, painted across the side of a building.

You stop at a wall in Estarreja, Portugal.

And more around the world. You didn't hire a mural expert. What you seek is seeking you.

If you make things about places, this is a better shelf than a feed. Your Best Tokyo Eats video gets forty-eight hours on YouTube. On Crumbs it sits outside all eleven restaurants, found by whoever is standing there deciding where to eat — three years later.

Clouds

Some things don't happen anywhere.

If a crumb has a place, it goes on the map. If it doesn't — a recipe, an idea, a whole festival — it goes into a Cloud. These are the real ones, as they are right now.

Try

Islands, not a grid. A passing interest is a rock. Twenty years of obsession becomes a continent.

Tap to go deeper. Yosemite, then the trails, then the sequoias. Stay at any level and see everything underneath it.

It opens back out. A Cloud can send you into a city. A street can send you down a rabbit hole.

Instead of scrolling someone's posts, you explore the world they built.

What you get

A gaming map for a social app.

The map over California with photo clusters of 79, 27, 3 and 2 crumbs

The world is the board

Not a feed you sit in front of — a map you move across. Clusters break apart as you close in, and the last few metres are yours to walk.

A crumb opened: photos of Etherea by Edoardo Tresoldi, the story of the sculpture, and its tags

The whole story, not a star rating

Photos, video, a voice note, links — left by the person who knew.

A trail page: The Backlot Next Door, movie and TV homes of Greater LA, ten stops

Routes somebody actually meant

Ten stops, a story between each one. Your afternoon, planned by someone who knows.

Look around: the camera view of a city street with photo crumbs floating where they are, labelled 55 ft to 120 ft

Hold the phone up and look

Crumbs appear where they actually are. The nearest one is 55 feet away.

How it works

Easy as pie.

1

Open the map

It fills with what people left near you. No account needed just to look.

2

Open a crumb

Pinned exactly where the thing happened. Follow whoever left it.

3

Drop your own

Leave something at a place that matters. It stays until you take it back.

AI, used right

Post your kid without posting your kid.

Three jobs, all of them in the background. None of them pretending to be you.

The photo you took

Yours only
The original photo: a toddler eating a slice of watermelon in a high chair

Every parent has this photo and wants to post it. And then thinks better of it, and doesn't.

What you can post

Baby filter
The same photo restyled by Crumbs into an illustrated character, so the moment is intact but the child is not identifiable

Same watermelon, same high chair, same face he was making. Just not his face any more — so you can post it for loved ones to enjoy and follow along the precious journey.

Prefer a sticker to a cartoon? A single toggle covers every face in the shot instead — that one runs on the handset, before the photo uploads anywhere. Tap any adult to put their face back.

Ask AI

A white trumpet-shaped datura flower with lavender edges, photographed on a walk
📷 What's this?

Crumbs AI

Sacred datura. Opens at night, closes by morning. Look, don't touch — the whole plant is toxic.

Dropped where it grows. The next person just reads it.

Keep the map safe to walk

Anything public is screened before it lands on the map. Private crumbs and direct shares are never touched. Places are real; what sits on them should be too.

Every crumb carries this. Block someone and neither of you sees the other on the map again.

What it will never do: write your caption, invent a memory, or redraw a face.

Who's down there

Pokémon GO built the world for you.
Crumbs lets you build the world for each other.

Pick the one that sounds like you.

Your city, the version only you know — and a way to get paid for it.

What you get

Every place you have ever covered becomes a pin somebody can physically walk into. Your video about a restaurant stops being a file on YouTube and starts being the thing found by the person standing outside it at 8pm, years later.

How you use it

Drop crumbs at the places your work is already about, thread them into a trail people follow across a city, and let your Cloud hold the rest — the links, the reels, the back catalogue.

How you make money

Sell a trail, a kit or a Pocket Crumb set. Subscriptions run $5–$25 a month, kits $10–$50, single crumbs $1–$5. It all sells on the web, so no app store takes a cut — 90% is yours, Crumbs keeps 10%.

Why now

The first group is small on purpose. We built profiles from public work and left them unclaimed; whoever takes a neighbourhood, a subject or a city is the one people find there from then on.

Everything your group knows, sitting where it is actually useful.

What you get

The swimming hole belongs at the swimming hole, not in a 2021 comment nobody will find again. The turn people miss is a crumb at the turn.

How you use it

Turn the group chat, the spreadsheet, the Discord and the old threads into one trail anyone in the community can add to. The next person who walks it finds all of it underfoot.

Why now

Seven million people across four hobby subreddits are already having conversations about where to go. The groups that map their ground first become the ones everyone else joins.

Leave something somewhere, for one person, for whenever they get there.

What you get

A crumb can be for everyone, for one person, or for a Circle you name — your family, your team, your climbing group. They can see it from anywhere, but standing where you left it is different.

How you use it

Leave you've got this outside her new office the night before. Leave a photo on the lawn where your dog used to run and add a new one every year. Leave a prayer at a temple someone you love may not reach for a decade.

Why it lasts

It does not expire and no algorithm buries it. Years later your kids can stand in the same spot and find what you both left there.

Stop renting attention. Make the place itself the thing.

What you get

A physical location becomes something people can explore — official crumbs, trails, timed unlocks, things to find while they are standing there. Utility and access, not another impression.

How you use it

A product drop becomes a citywide trail across murals, courts and stores. A festival becomes a world that exists before, during and after the weekend. A museum layers its own building with what the labels never had room for.

Why now

Density is the whole game, and it is being built right now. The venues that are on the map when their city fills up are the ones people route their day around.

We may have already built your profile. Your work put a few places on this map before you did. It's waiting, with your name on it.

The short answers.

Something not here? Write to hello@postycrumbs.com — a person reads every message.

Is it free?

Yes. Exploring, dropping and following are free on both platforms. Later, creators will be able to sell trails and kits on the web — and 90% of that goes to the creator.

Is my location visible to everyone?

No. Your position is never broadcast. The app uses location to show what's near you and to place what you drop. Every crumb you leave is public, for one person, or for a Circle you name — your family, your team, your climbing group.

Does it drain my battery?

Background awareness — the nudge when you walk past a crumb, and the optional daily card — is off until you switch it on. With it off, the app only reads location while it's open on screen.

Do my friends have to download it first?

No. There are already {{ crumbCount }} crumbs and {{ trailCount }} trails on the map, most of them in Southern California. Explore alone on day one and invite people later.

Do I have to be there to see a crumb?

No — browse the whole map from your couch. Being there is different: the map shows how far each crumb is, Look around puts them in front of you through the camera, and optional nudges tell you when you walk past one.

Which phones does it run on?

iPhone and Android, free on both. Two optional extras reach iPhone first — the nudges when you walk past a crumb, and the daily card — and Android follows.

How old do I have to be?

18 or older. You confirm this when you create an account. Everything we collect and why is in the privacy policy.
